It should be no surprise by now that vinyl records have made a huge comeback, back from the brink of death and getting new life on new and vintage turntables around the world. Folks, young and old alike, are enjoying the vinyl renaissance, and what better time than now, to take a look at some of the best vinyl records recorded in Sin City.

When it comes to Las Vegas showbiz, Tom Jones is a household name. The consummate Welsh gentleman, comes armed with a microphone, ruffled shirt, Elvis-like swagger and a booming backing orchestra (conducted by Johnnie Spence), on this hot-n-heavy "Live In Las Vegas" album recorded at the famous Flamingo Hotel, kick-starting what would be a record 42 year run as the king of the strip.

Jones simply oozes 1960s cool on this record, belting out the hits, "Turn On Your Love Light", the Otis Redding-penned "Hard To Handle" and delights the audience with his signature tunes "Delilah" and "It's Not Unusual." Some low candle light mood music makes the cut, peppered in between a few familiar Lennon-McCartney hits like "Yesterday" and "Hey Jude."

There is a song for just about every mood on this record, and it one of the most exciting live recordings I've heard from this era. The next time you are throwing a Vegas-themed party, or having a poker night with some friends, put this record on for some appropriately good background jams. This record will turn, whatever the occasion may be, into a bonafide good time, and you'll understand why people from all over the world flocked to see Jones perform for over four decades. "Live In Las Vegas" is just a sliver of magic and excitement that will have you coming back for more.
